After many years, it’s almost time to say goodbye to the old brainbytez.nl website.
On October 14, 2026, the old WordPress blog at brainbytez.nl will become unavailable. The web hosting for the old site is being discontinued, but BrainByteZ itself isn’t going anywhere.
The blog has already been migrated to its new home, the place where you currently are:
All of my old blog posts have been moved to this website, along with the archived comments from the original WordPress blog. New posts are also being published here, so brainbytez.eu is now the permanent home of the BrainByteZ blog.
What happens to old links?
Because this website uses a different URL structure, old links to individual posts on brainbytez.nl will no longer point directly to the correct pages once the WordPress site goes offline.
I don’t want years of links scattered around the web to simply end up at a dead page, so I’ll be working on redirecting the old URLs to their corresponding pages on brainbytez.eu.
The goal is that existing bookmarks and links to old BrainByteZ posts will continue to take you to the right content on this website.
Why the move?
The old brainbytez.nl site has been running on WordPress and traditional web hosting for many years. This brainbytez.eu website is a much simpler, faster static site (Astro 🚀) and has already taken over as my main blog.
Keeping the old WordPress installation and hosting online no longer makes much sense when all of its content has already been preserved on this website.
I’ll be keeping the brainbytez.nl domain, however. After the old hosting disappears, the domain will be used to redirect visitors to this website instead.
Update your bookmarks
If you still have brainbytez.nl bookmarked, now is a good time to update it:

New: https://www.brainbytez.eu
The old WordPress blog will remain available until October 14, 2026. After that, brainbytez.eu will be the place to find both the old archive and anything new I publish.
It’s the end of the old WordPress site, but certainly not the end of BrainByteZ. 🙂
